Come up to the White Mountains and get out of the heat. AES will be feeding all the volunteers for the project. Volunteers with all work together with the USFS to repair the Burro Creek Allotment boundary fence. We have miles of rugged country to hike into to get this fence back in working shape.
For several years, approximately 5 miles of fence between the forest and the reservation has needed work. Dead trees from forest fires have fallen on the fencing and the lack of fence has left fence down in many places. This causes serious loss of habitat for elk, deer, antelope, and other wildlife that depend on the riparian areas and forage on the forest side of the fence.
Volunteers will be hiking to the barbed wire fence and repairing it. AES Sawyers along with Forest Sawyers will be on hand to remove the fallen trees. Volunteers will help scatter the tree debris and get the fences back up.
AES will provide volunteer t-shirts, tools, gloves, safety glasses, food, water, main camp.
